Endocrine Oncology Clinic
The Multidisciplinary Oncological Endocrinology Consultation ('COM') was created at the opening of the Chirec Cancer Institute to coordinate, gather and unify the management of endocrine oncological pathologies, mainly thyroid.
The physicians participating in the COM, and those referring patients to it, practice various specialities: endocrinology, surgery, nuclear medicine, ENT, radiology, anatomo-pathology, oncology and general medicine.
In addition to oncology, the COM also examines the problem of hyperparathyroidism.

Management of thyroid tumours
Metabolic therapy with Iodine-131 is a key element in the management of thyroid tumours.
It has been made possible thanks to the opening of the metabolic isolation chamber, benefiting from the most recent and strict standards of radioprotection, while ensuring all the comfort expected.
The number of patients referred and treated is growing steadily, and this will be reinforced by the establishment of "Thyroid Nodule Clinics" in the various sites of Chirec hospital group. These bring together different specialists who select and refer patients to a duo radiologist/anatomo-pathologist who perform ultrasound punctures under the best possible technical conditions for optimal cytological and molecular analyses.
Finally, among the projects, the "follow-up clinic" brings together the same physicians for a more effective long-term follow-up.
