Conditions and Treatments in Knee Surgery

Fractures, extensor mechanism ruptures, meniscal or ligament injuries… each injury requires a personalized approach.
Depending on the diagnosis, treatment can range from simple immobilization to reconstructive surgery, always accompanied by physiotherapy follow-up.

The menisci, both medial and lateral, act as shock absorbers and help distribute load.
Depending on the injury, your surgeon will discuss either repairing the tear or removing the damaged area.
A preoperative assessment (MRI or arthro-CT scan) is essential before any surgical decision.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are the most common, far more frequent than posterior cruciate ligament injuries.
After a clinical examination and an MRI confirming the diagnosis, physiotherapy rehabilitation is first initiated.
If instability persists, reconstructive surgery will be proposed.

Some injuries involve multiple structures: meniscal tears, tibial plateau fractures, or multiple ligament tears.
Your surgeon will then develop a ‘tailored’ treatment plan, adapted to your specific situation.
