Neonatal Intensive Care Center - Delta Hospital

The Neonatology Department is an accredited neonatal intensive care center and referral center for the Braine-l'Alleud and Ste-Anne St-Remi hospitals. We care for premature newborns of all gestational ages, as well as full-term babies born ill or in difficult circumstances.

Our patients are born at the Chirec, mainly at the Delta hospital, but also at the Braine-l'Alleud hospital and the Clinique Ste Anne-St Remi in Anderlecht. The latter are transferred to us before or after birth. These children will be transferred back to their home hospital as soon as conditions allow.

The hospitalization of a baby, whether ill or born prematurely, is often unexpected and a source of concern for you, the parents.

Below you'll find useful information to help you make the most of your baby's stay, and to encourage your participation and integration into the care process.

General information

Service access

24-hour unrestricted access is provided by badge.

Two badges will be given to you when your baby is admitted, identified with the letter A or the letter B. The A badge also gives you access to the parking lot... free for one vehicle and during your baby's stay.

For the sake of hygiene and to protect babies, it is essential to go through the “parents” changing room to wash hands and leave outer garments there. Wardrobes are available for parents and visitors.

Despite our complete availability, we reserve 3 short periods for the transmission of information between teams. In order to respect everyone's medical confidentiality, we ask you to wait in your room or to leave the ward at certain times:

  • 7:00 to 7:45 a.m.
  • from 12:30 to 13:15
  • from 8:00 pm to 8:45 pm

Our multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses and child psychiatrists will take care of your baby, providing quality monitoring and 24-hour care on a daily basis.
