Members of the Board of Directors

• At least 8 members, doctors practising within CHIREC for at least 3 years, elected from among the members providing at least 8/10 of their overall services on one of CHIREC's hospitals.
   
• 3 members who meet the generally accepted criteria for independent external directors, in the financial, economic and legal fields. Their independence precludes any direct or indirect family, professional or other ties with CHIREC that could give rise to a conflict of interest.

The composition of the Board of Directors is determined on the basis of the number of beds justified on each site, at the rate of 2 directors with parity in each college (including psychiatry and physical rehabilitation beds), with any increment of more than 50% being counted.

The Board may not include more than two members from the same department. Once appointed, the chairman and the medical directors are not considered to belong to any site, college or department.
