Our centre
We are a reference centre at Chirec - Site Delta.
A team of specialist doctors is available to monitor your pregnancy by ultrasound every trimester:
- The 1st trimester ultrasound is carried out at around 13 weeks of pregnancy. This examination allows you to see the foetus for the first time, to hear the heartbeat and already to observe movements.
Measurements of the head and length of the foetus will enable the pregnancy to be dated accurately.
- The 2nd ultrasound, also known as the ‘morphological ultrasound’, is performed between 20 and 22 weeks of pregnancy, when the examination is most informative.
The medical expert will be able to check that the organs are normal, assess the growth of the foetus, observe movements, check the amount of amniotic fluid and the position of the placenta.
- The 3rd trimester ultrasound, at around 30-32 weeks, allows the fetal position to be identified: head down, breech or transverse.
It is also used to monitor the growth of the unborn baby, estimate its weight, determine the position of the placenta and the amount of amniotic fluid, review the foetal organs, etc.
A multidisciplinary foetal medicine team takes over in more complex situations:
This centre of reference also provides expertise in the specific monitoring of pregnancies at maternal or foetal risk.
With the rapid development of screening tests and new ultrasound and genetic tools, the centre can monitor pregnancies by offering specialised consultations.
Finally, it promotes optimal care for pregnant women and the best possible conditions for newborn babies.
A team of experts is on hand to answer any questions you may have about a particular family history, screening test results, ultrasound anomalies or infections during pregnancy.
Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures can be suggested and carried out by the team.
