Vertigo

The Vertigo Clinic is based on a multidisciplinary approach involving neurologists, ENT specialists, emergency physicians, and paramedical professionals such as audiologists and vestibular physiotherapists.

Objective

The main objective is not to overlook serious causes of vertigo, although these are rare, while managing and monitoring benign causes of vertigo, which account for the majority of cases. This helps improve patients’ quality of life. The neuro-vestibular examination plays an essential role in diagnosis.

Care pathway

The care pathway begins in the emergency department, where emergency physicians trained in this condition manage 3 to 5% of consultations. Patients are then referred to neurology and/or ENT consultations.
