In the event of a patient’s death within our hospital, the deceased is taken to the hospital mortuary.
The mortuary is a hospital department responsible for receiving and caring for the deceased. It enables families and loved ones to arrange for the deceased to be taken into the care of the funeral director of their choice within 72 hours.
Organising the funeral and dealing with the necessary administrative procedures following a death can be difficult to manage during such a painful time. The hospital does everything it can to support the families and loved ones of the deceased through this process.
The team welcomes and meets with families and loved ones by appointment (02/434.31.11) from 3pm to 5pm (20-minute sessions. Maximum 5 people). The team provides support and assistance until the deceased is taken into the care of the funeral director chosen by the family and loved ones.
Funeral costs:
Due to the services that CHIREC is required to provide as part of the care of a deceased person, funeral costs may be invoiced to the funeral director you choose. These costs may then be passed on to you by the funeral director.
